New Workforce Training Course - Introduction to Building Energy

Introduction to Building Energy is a certificate class, taught by Lakes Region Community College at MAXT Makerspace in Peterborough. It is the entry point to a new series of training and apprentice opportunities that MAXT is offering with the Peterborough Renewable Energy Project (PREP) to meet the growing demand for qualified workers to work in residential building efficiency fields.

The class, starting on March 20th and running for five weeks, covers the basics of home energy performance, insulation and weatherization and heating and cooling systems. It concludes with a certificate test and is a prerequisite for the follow up programming at MAXT.

Thanks to the support of the Green Gap Fund, MAXT is able to waive the $600 registration fee for qualified applicants!

To receive the waiver, students simply have to be able to work in the Monadnock Area, be interested in a career in residential building energy efficiency and heat pump installation and commit to taking the online certificate test.
